Photos on my iPad 2 look like xrays. Have tried the invert colors, hitting home button 3 times, gone into asscesibility.

Tap the icon marked with a circle in the photo below and then tap "None"

Does the text and all of your other screens look like x-rays? If so, then invert colors is selected. Can you post a screenshot?
One other thought .... are these photos that you took with Photo Booth? You can take Photo Booth photos with the rear camera and apply the x-ray filter to them.
yes everything looks like xrays. Did not use photo booth. Also tried invert colors and that did not work. I am on an iPad and cannot do a screen shot. I can take a picture, but it might not look like an X-ray, but will send any way.

The screenshots of invert colors will not work. Did you check Accessibility>Display Accommodations>Color Filters>Greyscale>On?
