High CPU when using Serato 1.8.2 on MBP 13 retina late 2013 2.4 ghz

I sent this to Serato:

I have 2 MacBooks that have constant high CPU when using 1.9 anything
2012 13" i7(dual core) 2.9ghz 8gb
2013 13" late i5 2.4ghz 8gb

This happens with audio and video files. Both laptops on 1.8 and lower will have 50% CPU

I have opened a previous ticket for this. My question is is this normal for a dual core system. Should I stop trying to update, or will this ever be addressed.

I have sent in system reports previously. I'm not really looking into trouble shooting anything because obviously 1.8 works fine.

My friend has an i7 quad processor works fine, my other friends that have 13 inch notebooks with I5 dual core have the same issue.
Happens on pioneer ddj-sz, ns7

I have upgraded to Sierra and 1.9.5, same issue on Retina system. I can run 1.7.8 just fine.. but it has some bugs with my controller.

The 2012 actually works fine with Sierra and 1.9.5 - from testing in my house.

Serato states:

I can determine from the extra information you have sent through that the process kernel_task is using a lot of CPU on your computer - this is either a OS X issue or a hardware issue. We have determined that this issue is not an issue with Serato DJ, as there are reports from users experiencing similar issues with other applications. This issue is just present when Serato DJ is running because Serato DJ (and more so serato video), are VERY CPU intensive applications. . I suggest contacting Apple support as soon as possible about this.

We are looking into this as a few customers are experiencing this issue. However, as this is likely an OS or hardware issue, there is little we can do at these stage apart from collecting information from those affected, and then hopefully our development team can look into this in the future - unfortunately, we cannot guarantee any solution will come from this. There are work arounds available on the internet to potentially remove this issue that range from basic to advanced.

I don't think this a hardware issue. AHT reports no issue, I checked the CPU speed with an app from intel, it seems to be throttling up just fine and SMC fan reports temps from 110 to 170f on normal fan speeds.

thanks,

David
