I added the low power mode button to my lock screen, but an option to disable the automatic off switch when charging above 80% would be good (for us who use the phone as a tool for many tasks).
please do, Apple.
Please submit your feedback to Apple:

Incorrect. When the battery is placed on charge and it reaches a certain % it will auto turn off battery save.
Yes, I pointed that out to Phil back in March. He's a smart guy. I suspect he still understands.
Submit any feedback you have for Apple here:
You can go to Settings->Battery->Low Power Mode and manually turn it on, and it won't turn off until you manually turn it off.
So for all intents and purposes it will be locked to on.
Note that Low Power mode stops a lot of features from working on the iPhone in order to conserve power.

It turns off automatically when you're charging the phone and it reaches 80%.

Fortunately, it alerts you that it's turing it off so that at least you are aware and can turn it back on again.
When the notification tells you that low-power mode is turmed off (battery sufficiently charged) you can swipe it right and go straight to the low-power mode switch. I do this every morning, takes literally one second.

Good to know. Hopefully that tip will be helpful to people who want to keep their phone in low power mode.
Best of luck.

Incorrect. When the battery is placed on charge and it reaches a certain % it will auto turn off battery save. Apple seams to think we are not adults and need our hands held and turn things back on when we don’t want them to!
Yes in fact, the more apple sees we are adults and can decide on our own what to turn on or off the better there product will be. I suggest anyone that wants to have this feature to send a request to apple for future updates.
I guess I have to spell it out for you.
Yes I know that and have many times in the past and it would be nice for people in this discussion including yourself to help support others that would love this option by submitting the request.
PS: my first Mac was a Mac-Lisa so have been around the block along time with apple, so I know for a fact you need to flood them with the same request for them to take action, so anyone that wants battery save on and give us control to turn it off send in your request or call there help desk.

No need Phil to apologize for me it was directed at you.
No one was apologizing for you. I was expressing sympathy to fill because it was the kind, polite thing to do and because I value his participation here.
That is not possibe. iOS has no setting for that.
