How do i actually clean my airpods?

Cleaning the exterior surfaces is well covered - get a microfiber cloth and wipe the airpods. The problem, however, is how to actually clean them of the ear wax build up that gets attached to the "net" of the airpods. Wiping it out is nearly impossible and it also presses the wax further into the airpods. Some manufacturers (one I'm "sure" of...) send along a small metal tool that helps scrub the ear wax. Apple doesn't do it.


So: how do I actually ensure my Airpods are clean of ear wax?

If, having followed Apple's care and cleaning instructions, you are concerned that your AirPods may have a manufacturing defect, then I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider with a view to having them checked under warranty:
