I have had some success using Blu-Tack to remove ear wax from the nooks and crannies of my AirPods. Just use a small piece and stick it on the speaker grill, then peel back. Repeat a few times.

I haven't had my AirPods very long and they are filthy... A microfiber cloths is not working... come on Apple
