How can I edit the genre of an album in the music app?

My wide-ranging taste in music extends to brass bands, and I recently purchased a couple of brass band albums from the Apple Music store, downloaded onto iPhone, only to find the genre is tagged as 'classical'. I have a load of brass band CDs I have ripped into iTunes and synced to iPhone, all of which I have tagged as 'brass'. I want all of these to share the same genre (and not appear under 'classical', of which I have quite a few also). I can't find any way to edit the genre information in the iOS music app.

Hi Yellow52,

I understand that some of the songs you downloaded from Apple Music are showing the wrong genre. I'm happy to help with this.

While you won't be able to edit the genre directly on your iPhone, you can use iTunes on a computer to edit the song information:
