Hi,
I have a new iPhone 7+ and I am experiencing problems with gps in using the Strava app.. I saw that this is or used to be a problem.

I have the same problem in Germany with the German outdoor tracking app "komoot" after a komoot-update of March 21 (?).
After that it did not track the course any more. Also the location point jumps every 5 - 6 seconds and shows wrong, unprecise locations. The gps seems to be deactivated and the iPhone 7 seems to get its position from hotspots, WLAN-points or cell towers.
Also in Apple Maps app the blue location indicator moves slowly from a point up to 200 meters away to points nearby the real location and repeats that every 5 - 6 sec, occasionally starting from another point. Out of town it shows totally wrong locations. So seems to be not (only) a third party problem.
After a total reset to the original status it showed the same behavior on Apple Maps. Surprisingly an AppleCare diagnose indicated no failures concerning gps, but also AppleCare supporter sees these effects after resetting again.
Same problems as reported some months ago? Any solution so far? Can an update of a non Apple app cause failures in the Apple software?
The device now is handed in to be observed. I will update this report after getting it back.
I've been having the same problem since December. Had phone replaced in January and still have the same problem. Have tried my iPhone 7 with Strava, Runkeeper, Nike+ and it is a mess on all applications so it's not just a Strava problem. It also relocates on Apple and Google Maps. I've been in touch with numerous senior advisors and have twice now sent in diagnostic information and am waiting to hear back from my second attempt. I don't even know what to do anymore but it's awful. I didn't have any of these issues with my iPhone 6 and I can't even switch back to the old model without paying a ton. I'm hoping someone finds a solution. I also switched to AT&T in December from Verizon, but my old iPhone 6 which my son uses isn't having these problems and neither is my other son's iPhone 5S, so it's something isolated with the iPhone 7 and at this point, I think it has to be a hardware issue in these iPhone 7
Hi,
Better to contact the Strava app developer > https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/categories/202558427-Help-Support
Apple is not responsible for third party app support.
Thanks for your reply!
It is not a Strava problems... if you
Look at the communities it is a problem from probably Iphone7 and I was wondering if someone found a solution already. The other apps give the same result..
gps jumps all over the place.
It seems to be a hardware issue. Even though the diagnose at the repair shop did not show a gps defect, a new iiPhone 7 was handed out to me in exchange for the old one.
