Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

i am trying to activate new iPhone7 using iTunes and it is not taking my password.

when i select restore from old phone it asks for my iTunes password but it says it is wrong. when i use same password to login direct to iTunes using same password it works

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.2

I believe you are not being asked for an iTunes password. It sounds like the old iPhone's backup was encrypted and you are being asked for that encryption password.


About encrypted backups in iTunes - Apple Support


Read the words in that password inquiry very carefully and completely.
