I just updated my version of safari 10.1 and now I suddenly can't drag and drop images to the desktop.
I just keep getting the error report message popup.

yep... you rescued my safari's *** before Apple official update. I went to the developers page as you recommended and found the upgrade before they released the public one.

Changing the color calibration is not an option if you are a graphic designer of any sort.
