Update to 10.12.4 causing Date/Time Issues

Immediately after installing the 10.12.4 update I have problems with my system date-time. On initial boot I am getting a system date of 7th November 2040 or thereabouts. A few seconds later the system gets the correct time from an internet time server. I have reset PRAM and this did not help. I've not been able to get the key combination to reset SMC to work for me. It seems erratic, sometimes the date is correct. Were it not that this occurred immediately after the update I might consider other problems but I'm sure it's linked somehow.

I am about to download and reinstall 10.12.4

Not sure why I can't get SMC reset to do anything.

I seems unlikely that we have all developed the same hardware problem.

Interesting - I downloaded the driver and had a look at the command script for uninstalling. It would appear that I don't have any older versions of the files on my system presently.

FYI: Apple has fixed the issue in the latest 10.12.5 beta 4 seed. Build version is 16F67a.

That's good news. I assume your using the beta version now. From what I've heard they don't include any notes as to what was fixed in a beta release so you just have to try and see.

My clean install of Sierra solved the date issue... for a while. Now when I turn on my computer, the date problem returns.

This .4 update is a complete disaster. 😠

A lot of people have reported back that the beta of 10.12.5 seems to fix the problem. I've not tried it myself but hopefully the final release will be available soon.

Like some others and I have posted earlier, installing the updated Ethernet driver fixed the issue for us. Haven't had any time problems since then, been through plenty of restarts.

i had installed the driver too but the new Driver dosent fix this issue for me back then.
