Bought Jan 2017. Have used Apple Support for this problem a month ago. Replaced same Mac which was two years older with Jan. purchase.

You must remove the Seagate software using whatever method Seagate suggest.
Yes. I'm using Time Machine.
Then you definitely don't need the Seagate or NTFS software.
