Are you sure that WAV files are supported? WAV are basically raw CD quality audio - they generally do not support ID3 tags (metadata for artist, title, artwork etc). They are also many times larger than MP3 or other compressed formats.

You probably want to clean out invisible files if your FAT formatting, otherwise you may get a lot of ._filename junk in the file lists…

It likely says in the car's manual, or you can call your dealer. I have a different car maker, but mine requires formatting in FAT 32.
Thanks very much. I formatted in FAT 32 and the manual isn't very helpful. I will call the dealer as you suggest.
Besides formatting, there's the type of music file you have. IIRC, mine won't play Apple Lossless for example.
