Flickering Screen with macOs 10.12.4

I have the screen flickering like it wants to give me an epilepsy attack. I believe the screen is working perfectly, this flickering only happens when I have a white background opened like google, or safari, or any app with white background. I am unfortunately off warranty for 2 months now and I called support and they told me they will replace the screen for $1000 on $1500 computer with I believe it´s absolutely barbaric.

As a workaround I have inverted the colors on my macbook and it doesn't flicker as long as it doesn't see white background. It was working perfectly last night. I will tell you what happened that night.

I decided to download Xcode and Visual Studio that night and each app was 5gb each. I lowered the screen display to the minimum all night to avoid the mac to get ever heated due to the downloads. So, when I woke up the computer hadn't dropped more than 5% of battery and it started doing that (the flickering).

I called Apple and then they said the repair was expensive, however my screen is working perfectly in a color inverted display, so my verdict is that the screen is absolutely fine.

I removed the downloads I did last night and I reinstalled the Sierra OS X update, I am running the latest 10.12.6. I haven´t had any luck.

Please help I don´t have $1000 to fix this.

I did this and it helped for a few days. Now the flickering is back.

Unfortunately, it only helped for a few days in my case as well.

After resetting NVRAM, the problem wasn't be solved. So I went to Genius Bar, the Genius replace the motherboard for me and it seems like everything is OK right now.

Yes, I think it is related to the 10.12.4 updates. But the problem makes my work unhappy. And I'm not sure when the fix version will be released.

Can you keep us updated if the problem comes back? If it doesn't get fixed with the next update, the change of hardware becomes a more attractive option.

I tried all these options but none worked. I reinstalled the OS, 10.12.5 and preformed the resets in the post above. The flickering is till happening, although it is not as bad as before.

Had this problem, too. Flipp's suggestion about resetting the "P-Ram" worked for me.

I also did the command+P+R and nothing changed. I had the chance to reinstalled the OS but it didn't´t fix the problem 😟

How can I downgrade? My apple store only shows the latest.
