If one AirPod is louder than the other

When I listening to my AirPods it sounds like my right AirPod is slightly louder than the left. I even replaced the left one on an Apple Store, but still having the same issue. Unpair/Pair was another try.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Thanks!!

One of the most common reasons why one AirPod may sound louder than the other is the accumulation of dirt, dust, or earwax on the speaker grills. To clean your AirPods, you can use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the surface of each AirPod. You can also use a dry cotton swab to reach the hard-to-reach areas, such as the small cracks and crevices.

For the speaker grills, you can use a soft-bristle brush or a toothbrush to gently brush away any debris that may be stuck on them. Do not use any liquid or sharp objects to clean your AirPods, as this may damage them or cause water damage. After cleaning your AirPods, make sure they are completely dry before placing them in the charging case or using them again. This way, you can ensure that your AirPods sound balanced and clear.

I might say this is the best method to fix this issue, However there are other fixes too, but I can't elaborate each one, its best you search on google and find a relevant guide or you can visit this guide that has provided 8 Solutions on how to fix volume on one AirPod lounder then other

I use some stuff that you mount pictures to the wall with. I just ball it up and it pulls the earwax right off. But now my right one is too quiet. And the right one has the most earwax to remove. I may have some that passed through the screen. I need to try the “sucking” method mentioned here in this thread. Here’s a link to what I use. Probably the wrong thing to do. 🤔

i had the same problem. You could 'suck' on the one that has less volume but if the wax or something else is really suck (like on mine AirPod) you need to buy a airduster (compressed air) and blow at close to all the speakers in the AirPods and than your AirPods will be like new :)

(also helps for just cleaning your AirPods without needing a qtip or something like that)

Larry I have the same problem my right now sounds quieter. I was cleaning it with a safety pin and qtip with rubbing alcohol. I think I might have pressed to hard to get the wax out of the speaker grill output. Now the right output is slightly lowered then the left output. Could this be the sound problem. Tried resetting and sucking method nothing yet

I tried everything I could think of. Sucking on my AirPods wasn't even considered - I've been cleaning them gently with a twirling q-tip lightly damp, which preceded this left volume-right volume level problem. So as nasty as it seemed, I tried it, and it worked! This is definitely a design issue if they haven't accounted for people who have more liquid ear wax ( some people have liquid wax, some hard, some in the middle - and sweat and heat melt it easily ), especially considering workout body heat and sweat. They might need some kind of filter like hearing aids that can be replaced for like a $1. But then I have to wonder why my wired EarPods never had this problem.

Thank you so much for your tip MC!

Wow! The 1 i used constantly was so low. I use them everyday & was seriously in mourning! I can't believe this worked! I could tell the difference right away- the left 1 was clear & the air went right through, the right one- not so much! 🤢 It actually wasn't gross (unless i really think about it!) Thanks so much for taking the time to write this though- you definitely just made my day almost 2 years later! 😁

I'd agree about the design issue except for me I've been using these daily (more then daily, i have the right 1 in like constantly!) for idk a solid year and a half. (& it was so hot yesterday- & i was out there melting all day. Gross but i bet its not a coincidence that last night is when it was "clogged.") So even though i was majorly disappointed- if cleaning them will do it- I'm satisfied! Im curious how long you've had yours before this happened? Can't believe it worked right?! I just thought it was time.. 😂 Have a good 1!

Hi all,

I can confirm that sucking the larger then the smaller speaker does work!!! Habe had the promblem with one AirPod being louder than the other for months. Read this post while sitting on a train, sucked in my case the left AirPod as it has been pledged with having less volume than the left. Sucked until air flowed from small to large speaker( 30 secs) places the AirPod back in my ear ear .. instant satisfaction both AirPods had same volume after months of unequal volume. I tried hair dryer prior with no results. The method works just suck wax trhrough the two speakers!!!!!!

If one AirPod is louder than the other
