I DO have a LaCie external drive. I use Time Machine for backups.

So what's up with the Launch Agents and Launch Daemons errors??

Those products come with their own backup software pre-installed. Before using the drive for Time Machine or any other backup utility, you must repartition and reformat the drive which wipes out LaCie's proprietary software. Otherwise, you end up with to program competing for the same backup drive. I recommend you do that. Be sure you also delete the LaCie launch agent and daemon from their respective folders. Turn off Time Machine then do the following:

Drive Partition and Format

  1. Open Disk Utility in the Utilities' folder.
  2. After Disk Utility loads select the drive (out-dented entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the side list.
  3. Click on the Erase tab in the Disk Utility toolbar. A panel should drop down.
  4. In the drop down panel set the partition scheme to GUID. Set the Format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
  5. Click on the Apply button and click on the Done button when it is activated.
  6. Quit Disk Utility.
  7. Restart the computer.

Re-enable Time Machine to start backing up once more. This will be a complete backup on a newly formatted drive.
