If my @icloud.com is connected/the same as my @me.com, why am i getting emails meant to be for someone else through @icloud.com?

So i have been using my @me.com when i recieved an info years ago that my @me.com is the same as or connected somehow with @icloud.com. The question is, lately i have been recieving emails meant for this specific person thru my @icloud.com. And someone has been signing me up for snapchat (some teenager with the same name as i am from Texas). So is my @me.com account actually the same as @icloud.com?
