I called apple for help on this issue. I did the below
Settings>Calendar>accounts
Select the account you believe is the problem ( I have several so u can select them all)
Turn off calendar (repeat w the other ones),
Turn off /start your phone
Turn your calendar/s back on
I tried it an hr ago and so far no more pop up notifications , I even tried sending an invite and replying to other and had no issues.
I concur with ghqasem. The "solved" answer to this problem is not relevant because I can't turn off my calendar in Settings.
not to easily remedied when your steps to resolve done work. Removed exchange account twice but still getting error.

That is correct.
Settings-> Accounts and Passwords
For each suspicious account select and switch off the calendar
Reboot the phone
Go back and switch on calendars.

If they are synced to the servers, they should come back when you re-enable them. It worked for me.
Worked like a charm. Upon restart give your calendar a few minutes to repopulate.

Yea, this doesn’t work.
I tried that and it didn’t work.
Your email is all server based so it will just re-sync and reload everything when youbadd the account back on.
This did not work for me at all.....for a few of the calendars it wanted me to delete the whole calendar...

nope. did nothing
no luck yet with any of the suggested fixes. I have an iPhone 8
Switch to MS outlook app and use that calendar instead. Better in most ways.
