I concur with ghqasem. The "solved" answer to this problem is not relevant because I can't turn off my calendar in Settings.
not to easily remedied when your steps to resolve done work. Removed exchange account twice but still getting error.
Thank you! It worked =)
Did you ever get an answer for this? I have the iPhone 6+, as well, and can’t figure it out. Thank you!
Yea, this doesn’t work.
I tried that and it didn’t work.
This did not work for me at all.....for a few of the calendars it wanted me to delete the whole calendar...
how to fix this on an iPhone 8?
nope. did nothing
no luck yet with any of the suggested fixes. I have an iPhone 8
I did that a few times and it didn’t work for me. :( I have the X.
Tried that too just now and it didn’t work. :( I have the X.
So what else should you be telling us about your particular situation?
What do you know that you're not telling us about the invitation? Did you accept it? Reject it? How long ago? Did some email anomaly occur along the way? Does the organizer have a legitimate email address?
These are just examples of things you may know, but we do not know.

I have not sent any invitation.
Yes, but you did receive one.
Perhaps you can find it if you look on your calendar. Click the three parallel horizontal lines with periods next to them in the upper right. You may find this tentative event on your calendar.
I turned off the calendar as Apple instructed. restarted the phone and turned the calendar back on. Just waiting for the calendar to sync with my corp server. Thats the only thing I am worried about now. It hasnt synced yet.
