driver for hp scanjet 3800?

Since I have updated to El Capitan I can't use my HP scanjet 3800 scanner anymore! I think it's not fair that HP does not provide with a driver for a product I have paid for. Does anybody can help me? I have decided not to buy anymore HP products since this company does not support its customers and cheat them.

Doesn’t sound like you buy too much from them anyway. The ScanJet 3800 is 12 years old.

Try this...

  1. uninstall all the HP software and "utilities" that you have installed.
  2. do a factory reset on the scanner (you'll have to check the manual for how)
  3. go to System Preferences > Printers&Scanners
  4. control click on a printer in the column on the left and select "reset printing system..." and in the dialog that follows, "reset"
  5. open image capture and see if it will see the scanner, download a driver, and work. "
