how to remove stackshop.plist from root

MacBook Pro 13-inch mid 2010 was having problems with it running slowly and apps kept shutting down then my internet stopped working it said couldn't find DNS called isp they said it was something wrong with computer and or Apple air port express router so just decided to do a complete erase and reinstall of system and when I did the erase the folders: private and var kept appearing along with stackshot.plist in root wouldn't delete need help do I have a virus in my root and if so what can I do?

private and var are a necessary part to the OS; don't mess with them, and I recommend staying out of root, where you can get into a lot of trouble.


Stackshot is a "debugging" app which you don't need and shouldn't have installed. It doesn't appear there is an uninstaller for it, so download and install Find Any File (safe and very useful). Do a search for "stackshot" and delete anything found with it.
