FCPX Freeze frame doesn't work

Why does freeze frame - option+f - not work? Or maybe it's WAD?

Every time I try and place a freeze frame I get the first two seconds of my project rather than the frame I'm on. When I first discovered this I thought it was me. But having gone through all of my project I'm finding that all my freeze frames are utter rubbish. I should have just exported the frame I need out and then imported it and inserted it at the point I needed. Which is a solution; but why when you have a perfectly decent option called FREEZE FRAME!!!!!

I've quit FCPX and started it again.

I've quit FCPX and reset the prefs and started again.

I've restarted

I've restarted and zapped the PRAM - just for the **** of it.

Nope.........

So I resort to the communities but will be satiated with a "Bueller......Bueller..."
