"accessory not supported" error message

Getting the "accessory not supported" error message when trying to play music. it has always worked but stopped since i updated my phone to 10.3.1. I have two different accessories I use to connect it to the aux cord in my car or my headphones and neither are working when they previously worked fine before the update. The music plays for about 15 seconds and then stops.

Apple appears to have identified some 3rd party Lightning "Y" adapters that don't conform to Apple's standards. These are detected by iOS when you try to use them and they will no longer work. You should contact the manufacturer, or get Made for iPhone certified adapters.

I don't know what Apple finds wrong with them, but a lot of other people have the same problem. The Belkin Rockstar seems to still work (I have one) if you use it with an Apple 3.5 mm to Lightning adapter like the one that came with the phone.
