Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. The down side is it clears all cookies. Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash.
Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

If you still have cookies left after doing the above:
Safari/Browsers – can’t delete cookies
Quit Safari.
In Finder go to Go menu and then Go to Folder.
Copy and paste this ~/Library/Safari/Databases.
Delete the contents of the folder.
Launch Safari again and check if all is ok.
If that doesn’t work, copy and paste this ~/Library/Safari/Local Storage.
Delete the contents of the folder.
Test.
Please don't install CleanMyMac 3 on your Mac.
Best.
Thank you. I was able to delete 3 persistent database cookies by using the GO menu to delete contents of ~/Library/Safari/Databases. They could not be deleted through the preferences menu nor the "Clear History" option on the Safari menu.
I was with tech level 2 of my ISP. My issue is slow loading and deleting webmail. She suggested clearing cache asking if I ever do that. I told her I regularly use Clean My Mac, she believed that was not enough. I have used Macs in one form or another since my llsi in 1991. I am still treated as if I know nothing. My instinct is, as it was, the issue is with the ISP. (I am with them 26 years) wish I could find an equallyspeedyto cable alternate.
Thanks

I second dominic's request/suggestion. The program can do more harm that good. Most posters recommend not using cleaning programs. They can destroy normal computer operations.
You are welcome.
Thank you for your sharing! CleanMyMac 3 is a safe & useful software.
It's good! Thanks
Thanks, so good, cleanmymac 3 helps me delete the junks files or useless data easily and release the disk space.
😎This Cleaner makes removing cache files as easy as can be.
