MB pro 2016 with Touch Bar BootCamped w/Windows 10 - Touch Bar not showing anything in Windows 10

I have a Mac Book Pro 13", Late 2016 with Touch Bar and BootCamped with Windows 10... everything works with the exception of the Touch Bar, it isn't even showing anything at all.

Started the service. Tried running the installer for the Driver via BootCamp Drivers, getting the same error:

When trying to install the Device Driver Installation Wizard window opens and says "The device driver installation wizard successfully scanned your machine but did not find any devices to be updated. The status windows says: Not needed ( No device for update present)

I also tried running the Entire BootCamp Driver install again and I have always been able to Apple Touchbar show somewhere during the installation. But never shows up.

This seems to be a different device. But, it is good to see the Apple Touch Bar show up under Windows Update, which is a positive sign.

If you look at the screen shot that I posted, the INF file is oem45.inf, not oem46.inf. The device class GUID in that screen shot matches your log entries

Class GUID of device changed to: {745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}.

but the PID is 8600 instead of 1281.

As I said before SMC/NVRAM reset didn't help. I also enabled Show Hidden Devices in Device Manager but the missing devices were still not listed.

I ended up wiping everything, reinstalling macOS Sierra and Windows 10. Everything works again.

Now that I think more about, I don't think it broke after the Sierra update. I think it was after installing Xcode under Sierra that I got these 2 unknown devices (that ended up being "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver") under Windows that I posted earlier. At the same the touch bar and camera stopped working under Windows. Now that I wiped everything and reinstalled I don't have these 2 devices. Someone from Apple should look into it. Until then I'll avoid installing Xcode.

I had this issue. Apple diagnosis was a faulty logic board.

After I had the touch bar stop working in windows, the touch ID stopped working in osx. Next the every usb c port stopped working and the machine took over 2 minutes to boot every time (although windows would boot instantly but give an error and said it needed to restart). To be honest, I'm afraid to run bootcamp on the new machine. The people at the apple store told me that there is no problem with boot camp but, given this thread and several others like it popping up, I am starting to see a common theme with people's problems starting in boot camp.

I did install bootcamp again however, I am afraid to use it as frequently due to the logic board issues I experienced while using bootcamp. I used bootcamp to play games for extended periods.

I never noticed anything that would cause an error until I encountered a blue screen and a forced restart of windows. After Windows rebooted, the touchbar no longer functioned at all in windows and the touch id was completely non responsive in osx. I tried several of the fixes that were posted in other threads, to no avail.

While trying to do a time machine backup before my trip to the apple store, the usb ports became unresponsive and time machine locked up. A few moments later, while waiting for time machine to respond, the laptop locked up completely. I waited for over two hours but the laptop never responded. After a forced shut down and restart, I lost all functionality of usb ports. Nothing, besides the charger was recognized. The apple store also confirmed this.

I am just afraid to go back to my regular work (and play) flow for fear of the same results with the new unit. Maybe once I complete some video projects for my clients, I will try to use bootcamp regularly to see if the issue happens again. I would be more brave if the closest apple store was not over 4 hours away. 😢

Good luck to everyone else who is having this issue. I hope apple can get to the bottom of this as I absolutely love this machine and would love to continue to use it to its full capacity. This machine runs circles around my MSI Ghost Pro 4k when it comes to video editing (I assume this is due to the optimization of Final Cut vs. Premiere) and plays games at a more than acceptable level (not as good as the MSI but thats due to 32gb of ram vs 16gb and 6gb of gpu ram vs 4gb).

Incredible!

This morning, i tried to make a clean installation of Sierra with a USB key but it didn't work...

After this, it appears a Sierra restoration disk when i press option key at the startup 😮

I choosed it and select clean instal of Sierra... MPB worked during 1 hour and after, everything is fine!

I didn't loose my programs and information on the Sierra's session??? it just asked me for a new finger print.

On bootcamp, Touch Bar works fine now...

I don't understand anything but now it's OK!

Hi;

I am having the issue originally described - no touchbar but everything else is working well in Windows 10

I installed Windows 10 via Bootcamp and the Touchbar was working, then I installed Trackpad ++ (and power plan assistant) to get context click and 2 finger scrolling (since I didn't see any better way to enable these) and afterwards the touch bar wasn't working. I emailed the creators of those tools and they hadn't heard that issue, so I uninstalled both utilities, still not working, I re-installed the boot camp drivers and still not working.

Device Manager shows the Touch Bar and I don't get any errors on boot or anything, can you point me to some things to try? I'd really appreciate being able to get the touch bar going again.

Thanks,

Josh

Sorry for the delay. It is working now, I am not sure what I did to fix it, I had re-installed Power Plan Assistant and Trackpad++ and then went into OS X and re-set the default boot partition to Windows in Paragon NTFS. Later when I opened my laptop on the bus the touchbar was working and is still working! I don't see how any of the things I'd done would have fixed it, I had already rebooted a few times after re-installing the bootcamp drivers and confirming the device showed up properly in device manager. Thanks for responding so quickly, hopefully it continues to work.
