Why does name of contact person does not show up on text?
I recently lost all contacts. Now all contacts are back on my phone. Question is why doesn't the name of contact person does not show on text nessages but instead cell number?

There are many possible reasons. You would have to tell us some of the history including events leading to losing contacts (where the contacts are housed, etc.).
A likely possibility is Settings > General > Language & Region is set inconsistently to either where you are located, where the contacts are located, or both.
