My mailbox subfolders have disappeared and i cannot see them. I can move a message to them by right clicking and finding the box from the little menus. But I need to be able to drag them to the lefthand bar.
I tried the disable account from the preferences tab. Then re clicking it. No luck.
I have also moved my entire inbox to a subfolder under the google tab and they have disappeared too.

Try rebuilding the mailbox.
Rebuild mailbox
If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
Reindex messages For El Capitan, try looking in V3. Sierra use V4

Open mail and in the mail side bar click on small triangles to show the subfolders as shown in the screen shot with red arrow .

Thank you for responding. If it was that easy I wish. There are no arrows by On My Mac, ICloud etc. They are gone. So i cannot do what you suggest. But thanks!
Put your cursor over On My Mac. A button will appear on the right _ SHOW. Click on the Show button.
yep they there are...i tried that in the past but it never worked? So odd but thank you!
On my sidebar, I do not see "on my mac" anywhere.....help
well I see the "on my mac" but when I hover over it the only thing i see is "hide" not show
