Print Quality Settings

I can't change the quality of the prints on my Brother printer MFC-J6510DW. My sister has an older MacBook Pro (2010, running 10.8.5) which has plenty of options under "Print settings" for my printer, and you can make the quality "high", "best" etc, but my newer (2013) MacBook Air simply does not have this option for this printer at all. There's a "media & quality" section, but only an option to change the paper, not the quality of the actual print. I thought perhaps it was because the Air was still running Mountain Lion, but I recently upgraded to Sierra and it's all still the exact same. Similarly, the print quality settings also missing from my new desktop Mac (2016, running Sierra). The prints I'm getting from these 2 computers are terrible and really fuzzy. I really need the option to change this!

I even tried installing the latest driver from the Brother website, specifically for Mac OS Sierra, but this changed nothing.

I have an older brother printer (MFC-6490CW) elsewhere with a 2016 Mac running Sierra and there is no problem! In this case, it's an even older printer running on an even newer Mac, so I don't think it can be a legacy thing.

Please, please PLEASE can anyone help? I'm at my wits end with this.

Look at the printer dialog and make sure you've clicked on the Show Details button so you can see all the printer options the driver offers. After that it is a matter of figuring out which button or popup menu the additional options are hidden under. Different programs and different printer drivers hide options in different locations on the dialog.
