I got my first call today and the number was FROM Apple Care using the correct number. Now, if one knows anything about phone systems, a software change can have the call read anything one wants. Since this was an automated / robotic /VRU voice, and this is a constant problem, I'm ignoring it. Why doesn't Apple publish something though, as official?
Hello-
Missed call...Caller ID, APPLECARE and phone ID 800-275-2273.
I thought since my grandson had been using my IPad earlier he had entered incorrect information and had created a flag on my account. Called Apple and they reviewed my account and found no compromises. Said they would not use home phone as point of contact.
Pardon me, but I have not joined in the discussion before, and didn't know the question had been asked many times.

try reading the thread - it is clearly identified as a scam many times - why bother every asking a question that has been answered over and over and over LN |

Yes, it is a scam.
For future reference, any such phone call, email, letter, popup message, smoke signal or any other method of communication will be a scam.

They are still coming in. I have received about 15 calls in the last two days. Idiots!
Received 2 calls to my landline regarding an iCloud breach on iPad
Just hit me in Chicago, twice this morning, on my landline. Caller ID says "Apple" and lists a local phone number. Same script as reported in other posts.
It's a new year and the scam continues. If there were a breach, how would one know?
Six calls today from "Molly" claiming to be from Apple. I know it's a scam, but I don't know how to get them to stop calling me every hour, all day long.
If you contact Apple Support, they will do everything they can to help you get them to stop calling.
I sent a Tweet to @AppleSupport. Their regular website doesn't seem to offer an avenue to register a report on this latest resurgence of this scam.
I just got several such calls on Feb 20, 2018
