"0 bytes" means there's nothing there. Its empty.

If the specific entries come back with 0 bytes that means they are empty. Don't know why they would come back empty though.

Mine stay gone. And I just get a Website Data 0 bytes text at the top. but nothing else.

Have you tried rebooting your phone?

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

And try to delete them again?

The Instructions give by Mr. Nelson will not work. Those are for a Mac not an iPhone. As this is the iPhone forum I'm assuming you wish to do this on an iPhone.

To delete website data on an iPhone:

Open the Settings App, scroll down to Safari, and then tap on Clear History and Website Data option there. It will appear in Blue if there is anything to delete.

You can also tap on Advanced in the Safari settings, and then Website Data, and see if you can manually delete the offending data entries by swiping to the left. That should reveal a red Delete button.

Yes, but the instructions given by Mr. Nelson himself before the link are for Macs. which can be confusing.

I see you're talking about the instructions, not the link.

I was going to say the same thing when I read Mr.Nelson's instructions but after following the link, I changed my mind because it covers iOS devices as well.

Google cookies can reappear if your default search engine is Google. I have no answer for other site cookies. Anyway, if it's 0 bytes, there's nothing in it. Why are you annoyed?

I have a habit of clearing temporary browser cache and cookies too (on all devices, tablets or computers) but I don't get annoyed if they keep coming back. *******

It is happening to me as well and it has been going on for a while. I almost never feel the need to clear the website data, but when I do, and I try to clear it, and it fails, it gets a little frustrating. I have done everything that I can think of short of restoring my devices and to me, that would be overkill.

I just clear what I can and move on. But I will reiterate, there have been a number of discusssions about this over the past few weeks but I have not seen a fix.

I understand that, but cookies that come back with 0 bytes make no sense at all. I realize that 0 means 0, nothing, nada, zilch, but why do they keep coming back? I did not experience this before the most recent update to iOS 10.3.1. Like I said, it's not a big deal to me, but it is to a lot of other people, especially those that like to keep things neat and tidy.

I too have long had this problem of Safari refusing to delete databases and cache items listed in the privacy tab. I have been working for months on deleting a few junk (possibly dangerous )databases that were picked up by someone browsing. I have tried it all including the trip to the ~Library/Safari/Databases and the trip to the development tool in the advanced tab. Nothing works. These junk databases just refuse to delete. I am frustrated.
