Mark ups of .jpg/jpeg.How to delete a mark up?


I marked up several photos of a map with several mark ups but one or two were wrong! Cannot see a way to delete individual mark ups . Nothing that I tried worked . Help!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Are you using Photos on a Mac or on an iPhoto or iPad? The question is in the forum for iOS devices like iPhone and iPad, but you signature is showing "MacBook Pro with Retina display,", so I am not quite sure about your question.

In Photos on a Mac you can delete individual mark-up in Photos, as long as you do not close the mark-up extension and add another edit. Once the mark-up extension has been closed, the annotations are burned in, and you can only revert to the original, or use the retouch brush in Photos to remove them by retouching.

can you give step by step detail to use retouch to remove a single mark up?

It is a lot of work.

To use the retouch tool, you have to replace the markup by suitable background, that will blend in.

Adjust the size of the retouch tool, then option-click a similar background to sample it and drag across the marker you want to remove.

For example, to remove the arrow in the photo below, I set the size slide to the width of the arrow and option-clicked above the arrow, then dragged the cursor along the arrow.
