Red circle with exclamation mark.

Does anyone have a suggested self fix for a red exclamation point.

Hi

You will need to contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider to arrange for your Apple Watch to be serviced:

Hi TSmithmaineville,

If you are seeing a red ! inside of a circle it means your Apple watch is in Recovery mode. You can try to force restart the watch to see if that will fix the situation but if not then it will need to be sent in for repair. Not to worry though, as long as its not been damaged accidentally even if its out of warranty its normally still fixed at no charge since it just needs to be restored back to factory settings. Just call into AppleCare and they can get you set up for a repair, or you can set it up yourself at Apple Watch Service Answer Center - Apple Support.Just choose "Start a service request".

Hope this helps!
