All emails missing from Inbox

While trying to flag an email I hit Command and L but the Caps Lock instead of the Shift key. All received emails have gone from my Inbox. The individual in boxes for each of my email accounts are fine. I always deal with my emails from in Inbox and not from the individual email boxes. How can I get all emails back into the Inbox? This happened once before (last year) but I can't remember what I found I had to do to rectify the problem Help, please!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4), null

The method is used in Mac OS Sierra to create filters .

Select one mail in inbox and click on flag sign to get it flagged .

Press command + L on the keyboard to create a filter ( shown with tiny black circle having horizontal lines ) , and then click on google .

Click on Unread , all mails will vanish from inbox and a right check mark is created before Unread .

Once again click on check mark to get all mails visible in inbox .

I tried to hold shift key + Caps lock mails didn't disappeared from inbox either you selected all mails and moved to On My Mac or somewhere else .

You , can select the important mails from Archive folder and move to inbox as IMAP account has property that carbon copy of all mails is always stored in the folder .

Please note that this is nothing to do with flagging emails nor Google mail. All contents of the main Inbox have disappeared complete but those emails remain in the individual mail boxes for my 3 separate email addresses and have all downloaded successfully before this happened. The only connection with flagging is that I was trying to flag 1 email but my finger slipped from the Shift key to the Caps Lock one which made the emails vanish.

I want to access the downloaded emails (about 1200) in Inbox, rather than the 3 individual boxes.

So I'm afraid the answers so far are not relevant to my problem!

He said he "Accidentally typed a COMMAND-L", which turns on filtering.

He's not asking about flagging.

Admittedly, I too am a bit lost on who said what.😁
