ios 10.3.1 wifi & gps problems

After I did 10.3.1 update my iphone 6 has problems with the wifi and the gps signal. my wifi signal is very weak, imagine that in my house if I am 10 meters away from the router I lost the signal! when I use googsle maps or maps the apps can't find the exact location so as a result I cannot get the correct instructions! I restored my iphone several times from itunes directly, as a new phone, zero result, same problem. I also tries to reset network settings, zero result! Is this ios 10.3.1 bug?? anyone can help me?

Hello, I have the same issue in my Iphone 6... after upgraded to 10.3.1 my GPS is never accurate (GPS is never found when using waze) and my Wi-Fi connection is terrible (just works when I am in the same room in front of the router.

Kind of frustrating that there isn't any fix or workaround.....

I have the iPhone 7 and the 10.3.2 iOS as well as the most recent T-Mobile carrier update and my GPS and location services are not working properly. I have a wine or two bars whether I am on LTE or Wi-Fi sitting directly next to my home router. I have the same weak Wi-Fi signal on public Wi-Fi networks. I have spoken to T-Mobile and they claim it's not their issue. I already have cases open with Apple and The issue is still unresolved. I have reset all settings. I have reset all network settings. I have reset phone to factory and restored it from a back up. The next option is to reset to factory and install every update one by one and see if issue still occurs. I am in rolled to get the iOS 11 early, not holding my breath that the issue will be corrected. The unreliability of the GPS location services and the Wi-Fi make my iphone 7 basically a glorified palm pilot.

For everyone having wifi issues, I ordered a wifi extender and put it in my house and it works well. That obviously doesn't address the GPS issue but if you spend the money on a wifi extender, you'll at least be able to use the wifi in your home without having to stand a foot away from your router and/or eating up all of your cellular data.

Here's the one I bought and it brought my pho e back to full signal in my home:

Now I've already said screw apple and bought a Galaxy S8. For those that can afford it, drop the apple products and maybe they will get the hint and as tempting as it may be, please don't sell your phone to someone passing it off as fully functional- I've seen this a few times locally. Worst case, you can always use your iphone as a glorified iPod.

I am due another appointment at Apple in Bath tomorrow regarding this very subject. BT have pulled the wool by 'claiming' many areas on the outskirts of towns have sf broadband, whereas they have left great swathes of households with poor access and like us have had to return to copper wire connection. 10.3.2 is hopeless I wish I had never upgraded, it just cannot cope with slow speeds and slows downloading so much almost everything is timing out. My 1 yr old iPad 2 was brilliant and fine until I upgraded. They have to address this issue, I am going to ask for a new iPad tomorrow but if it has 10.3.2 I am wary that it may be the same. Get a Facebook page, yes It may take me 30 mins to access but I will!

UPDATE: I've had the same issue here with web wifi and no gps for months, since updating to 10.3.2. I tried everything to fix it that I could find here in the support community and on the Facebook page. I also have spoken with a couple apple support people over the phone, visited the store for help, and talked extensively with two apple senior support specialists. Diagnostics were sent to apple engineering and I got a quick response that the issue was not software related, but hardware related. Apple said that there was likely already an issue brewing with the functionality of my wifi and gps and when I did the last update, that brought it to light. The iOS updates include firmware updates, which affect hardware. So this explains why not everyone has had this problem.

The fix was a new phone. First I backed up the info on my previous phone to the cloud. The new phone I got was running 10.2.1, so I set it up as a new phone and tried GPS and it worked just fine. Then I updated the new phone to 10.3.2 and tried GPS again, and it worked just fine. So then I restored the new phone from my iCloud backup and tried GPS again, and it worked! WiFi is also up to full strength.

This was the story for me but may not be for everyone. Good luck!

After weeks of trying every suggestion I found online to fix this GPS problem, I took my iPhone 7+ back to the Tmobile store where I got it last August. They ran through all the fixes again up to and including a factory reset. No luck. Then they tried changing out the SIM card. Again, no luck. So they did a warranty exchange and got me a new phone. The GPS been working fine for 2 days now (I never had a problem with wifi).

My iPhone 7+ has worked fine since it was replaced with a new phone about 10 days ago. I wonder if, in some situations, the new 10.3.1 and 10.3.2 IOS had an incompatibility issue with older iphones' hardware/firmware and Apple has fixed the issue on the new phones they're shipping.

It would be nice if Apple would say something about this problem. Their customers are at a loss as to what to do at this point.

There are over 700 people that have reported the same issues via this thread alone. OP created a Facebook page for folks but not even 10% have visited the page. Everyone having issues, please go follow the page, tell your story. The whole point of the Facebook page is to publicly share our stories outside of the official Apple support page. They're denying this is an iOS issue and most of us are out of the warranty window. Make your issues public on social media!

I tend to agree with sianny123 that it's likely a hardware issue.

My warranty replacement 7 Plus has been working fine for 3 weeks now. I never had the wifi issue, only the GPS issue. Before returning the phone, the store went through all of the possible fixes including a factory reset and changing the SIM card.

I assume Apple has looked at my returned phone and other returned phones and may have figured out the problem by now. Sadly, I think those phones that are out of warranty may be out of luck. I don't see Apple replacing them for free but, who knows, maybe they'll surprise us.

If your phone is having this problem and is still in warranty, I'd get it replaced before your warranty expires instead of waiting for an IOS update to fix the problem.

My wife's iPhone 6 has been working fine so far which is good since it's out of warranty. If it develops the same problem we are all having, we will replace it either with an Android phone with extended warranty or an iPhone with extended warranty.

It would be nice if Apple would acknowledge the problem. Even coming out and saying, "Yes, we are aware of the problem, your phone can't be fixed, and we're not going to replace any phones" is better than just leaving us in the dark. At least we'd know what our next step would be.

Good luck to all. This is a very frustrating problem.

For anyone following this thread, Apple just released a 'security fix' this week (10.3.3)which has fixed my wife and my iPhone 6's GPS and wifi issues. If you're have the issues reported in this thread, try running that update. I for one knew this was not a hardware caused problem, but bug in the 10.3 update which affected certain phones. It happened to both our phones at the same time as I always update them in pairs. Good luck!
