ios 10.3.1 wifi & gps problems

After I did 10.3.1 update my iphone 6 has problems with the wifi and the gps signal. my wifi signal is very weak, imagine that in my house if I am 10 meters away from the router I lost the signal! when I use googsle maps or maps the apps can't find the exact location so as a result I cannot get the correct instructions! I restored my iphone several times from itunes directly, as a new phone, zero result, same problem. I also tries to reset network settings, zero result! Is this ios 10.3.1 bug?? anyone can help me?

Hello, I have the same issue in my Iphone 6... after upgraded to 10.3.1 my GPS is never accurate (GPS is never found when using waze) and my Wi-Fi connection is terrible (just works when I am in the same room in front of the router.

Kind of frustrating that there isn't any fix or workaround.....

I am having the same problems with my iPhone 6 for weeks here now. I've been talking to technical support for the past 2 weeks, and they are telling me they don't know whats wrong with the phone and are asking me to buy a new phone or deal with the GPS not working. This is ridiculous, does anyone know what I can do to get a new phone or my GPS fixed without having to pay for fees since it is not my fault the GPS is not working.

Ok so I had all those stupid problems for over a month and I went back and forth with apple and Verizon (my provider) and Verizon sent me 3 phones to try and replace my non working phone and the problem still happened. And we realized it was the phone and called Verizon again and they decided to send me a 6s free of charge I had just the regular 6 before that and low and behold... IT WORKS! Try talking to your provider and see if they will replace it since it is a software issue. Best of luck!

Wasn't having the issue with 10.3.1 or 10.3.2 but unfortunately, I recently updated my iPhone 6 to 10.3.3 and now I have weak wifi signal and no gps. Tried all of the suggestions such as resetting networking settings, erasing phone, toggling location services on and off etc. Also restored iphone several times to see if it works but no luck.

This is exactly what happened with my iPhone 6: updated to 10.3.3 and immediately lost gps function and had unstable and diminished Wifi function. I also performed the same actions of resetting, toggling, updating, restoring, several times. I also spent 2.5 hours "chatting" with multiple Apple Support personnel. They ran me through the same hoops without success. They're flummoxed. They "escalated" my case, but I haven't heard back from them.

I am with Verizon also and never had issues with GPS until this update. IMO the issues seems to be connected to network and wifi settings. For example, when I am on my wifi at home and Verizon wifi calling is active, location services on weather maps and my banking app which I need in order to make mobile deposits will not work. But when I am out and about and am on cellular network, the GPS and location services work just fine.

I have tried everything from resetting location services to resetting network services to a hard reset. Nothing has fixed the GPS issue when connected to wifi!!

Hey Deejay,

If you are experiencing these issues even after doing the restore, I would highly recommend updating your iPhone 6 to iOS 11.0.3 since apps are being configured to work with the most up to date version of software. As softwares become outdated, you see random bugs start to occur with devices and doing the update can resolve these issues a lot of the time.

Best of luck!

> The way I got my wifi to work in my house was by purchasing a wifi extender on amazon and setting that up. Wifi signal is at full strength now with the extender.

reader be ware! I tried one of these and forced a return: the extender only improved signal 1 bar only while standing 1 foot from the extender: but the signal QUALITY (ie, transfer rate) was not helped at all - only the strenth (with more errors). now note this is after a good hour or more of roof install with a helper. i returned the item immediately.

your iPhone works well if you fix it. do not buy an extender unless you live in a farming area and have always used an extender!

from what I'm reading the people above likely did not restore the phone to factory settings but thought they did: they likely restored their last backup (which had problems because of 3rd party software they'd been installing OR because the software simply does not work with IOS 11)

my advice is revert to 10.3.x if you need to use old applications

BTW: as i just learned: the iPhone 5c is a 32-bit cpu, the iPhone 6 is 64-bit (note this is a firm reason for compatibility issues with old software, as it is on any computer OS). Your wife won't be able to upgrade past 10.x because 11 is a 64-bit OS. This shouldn't effect facetime, but you never know what issues you might have between the two phones depending on what software and features you try to share between the phones.
