AirPods Case not charging

On a desktop PC some of the USB ports are direct and full power (normally the ones in the rear) and some are slaves and have very little power (normally the ones on the front). This is sometimes reversed on machines designed for gaming.

Tested and the reported is true! It doesn't charge in the wall outlet... but it does work on my MacBook Pro. What the ****? Since Steve is gone I've been getting more and more disappointed with Apple. First Magic Mouse, iPhone 7 without headphone port, iOS 10 and 11 full of severe bugs, old iPhones CPU clock being throttled, now this... I'm seriously considering getting out of Apple's ecosystem.

Mine was doing the same thing I charged my airpods the airpods would charge and not the case and the light wouldn’t turn on only when I plugged it in and when I did it was for a couple seconds then turned off so I went to Apple they saw the problem and replaced it then I got home the next day my airpods are doing the exact same thing and this is a totally different pair idk what to do because Ik it’s not my charger or my outlet

I have found that mine only charge with the cable that came in the box.

Mine charges from the wall outlet with no issue at all. Perhaps you have a bad power adapter. Never had a problem with a Magic Mouse, Mr. Jobs would have killed the headphone port far earlier, no issue with iOS 10 or 11, and the CPU clocking actually makes sense if you read about it and laptop makers have been doing it for a long time.

Mine charges with a port I have a home and it’s connected to a different charging cube which ig it’s a 12volt or 6volt and it has the original AirPods charging cable, that’s what I use to charge them, mine aren’t charging but it seems that’s the AirPods are charge and the case feeds off of them, try charging your AirPods all the way and let the case drain the battery off of them to charge your case

P.S do not let your case die completely nor open it to much because that kills battery and it’s life charge it even if it’s on 20% oh and The AirPods to be fully charge takes about 15 mins

In my summary opinion, I’ve been an almost exclusive Apple consumer since the IIc... Computers are still great; phones... had enough. This is my last iPhone for extensive reasons. The most absurd decision... absent headphone jack - dongle much?

same issue happend with me too

i left my airpod case on charging and after an hour i unplugged it and kept it home and in the very same evening when i pulled it to use the case showed no lights nothing at all but the airpods were working fine

i tried everything cleaning, changing lightening cable etc

but the charing case won’t work

very ashamed of this apple product

and i bought it a month earlier

You need to make sure you’re charger is using the correct voltage, too high and it won’t charge. Too low like connected to a laptop and depending on the laptop it won’t charge.

I was having this same problem and while reading the posts here I thought maybe it's the amperes of the power source. I had it plugged on my computer USB hub so I tried switching it directly to a 2.4 amps usb plug directly to an electric outlet and it worked.
