storage problem iOS 10.3.1

Hello

The "Other" section of my iPhone 6S 16gb has exploded beyond control, and I have fixed it with every trick possible, including 3 full resets and restores. All 3 times the storage goes back to 4-4.5 GB of memory free, then within an hour comes back to zero KB available. I have even tried to delete all 1300 of my photos, so now they're gone, and have cleared the cache to everything and it still doesn't work. I don't have warrenty for it so I'd love it if someone could help me with this. No matter what I delete the "Other" section will occupy that remaining space.

Hi Heemoii,

Storage issues like this are going to be software related. The "Other" section storage shown in iTunes is cached or temporary data stored on the phone from various applications usually streaming or media apps but also usually cloud storage apps like dropbox, google drive, iCloud drive etc. It can also be due to corrupt data. iOS is designed to automatically manage this but again if there is some corrupt data it may be preventing it from performing correctly. The best recommendation is to either delete and reinstall any social media, or streaming apps and power cycle your device afterward or to restore through iTunes and set it up as a new device. Adjusting your usage habits may also be needed if your device is a smaller capacity like a 16 GB.
