Can't change brightness after 10.12.4/5 update

Hello, I have the problem that I can't change the screen brightness of my Macbook Pro Retina 2012.

It was working fine under 10.12.3 and after going back, the brightness control was working without problems.

It seems to me that there were some software changes in 10.12.4 and 10.12.5 that render the brightness control disabled.

After some digging on the internet I found that the driver for the backlight control is not loaded.

kextstat | grep com.apple | grep light

com.apple.driver.AppleBacklightExpert (1.1.0)

The com.apple.driver.AppleBacklightwas not loaded. Also, the DisplayVendorID shown by

ioreg -l -x -w0 | grep DisplayVendorID is 0x756e6b6e, but should be 0x717.

The problem comes probably from the fact that I had the screen changed in the past. The model

number of my screen is LP154WT1-SJAV.

I already reseted the NVRAM and SMC and so on, is there anything I can do?

Except for changing the screen again.

I can only suggest you download and run the 10.12.5 COMBO Update.

This contains everything that is needed to update any Sierra OS since 10.12.0 to 10.12.5.

If some needed files went missing in between they will be reinstated.
