Random fire alarm sound

This just happened to me today. It was extremely loud and I thought it was a real fire alarm. I read some stuff online and a lot of people are linking it with the use of an app (ifunny, mostly, but I wasn't using this app nor do I have it). I was wondering if you were using any specific apps when this happened to you. Mine showed that it was playing from some website called gigroity.info ... this is not a website I had up. I closed out all of my apps immediately, but didn't look to see what app officially closed the sound. I was able to pause the sound when the little iTunes logo thing showed.

I did some things I haven't had it since my last post. First there is an app that's allowing ads to make this sound. In my case it was the Grindr app. I have emailed them many times. I hope they stopped those ads. Secondly, I think if you double click home button and close the app manually each time, the ad won't make the noise because the app is not opened in the background to allow it. I hope this helps. I just experienced the same thing. The beeping lasted for about 10 seconds and then abruptly stopped. I was on Instagram. I am certain that it was not a government alert as I was looking at my phone while it was happening.

Same thing happened to me! I didn't get a notification or anything but my phone just randomly started going off

I had no clue, but without anything more than hearing the alarm sound, how does one know what is going on?

I'm under the assumption this is some sort of virus. It happened to me too. I was on the Chive app, it definitely was not an amber alert or government alert because I was in a room with 20 people.

I had the same thing happen while having the TMZ app open. It wasn't an amber alert or Flood warning. It was a fire alarm. It's happened 3 times, it's like an MP3 playing.

I literally just experienced this right now, here at work! the embarassment.. I have the same url too.

I wonder if apple knows this already?

I too was looking at iFunny. So I think the app is not a good app to use.
