Difference between ApplePay on iPhone and Apple Watch

I activated Apple Pay on the Apple Watch and iPhone.

I have the following questions about differences:

1) By looking Apple Pay tutorial I see that while a double tap is needed to pay for the Apple Watch, a TouchID usage is needed to pay for the iPhone. However I see (at home, without a real shop device) that while for the Apple Watch a double tap actions the ApplePay in stand by whatever the Apple Watch was already doing, on the contrary, for the iPhone, I need to open first wallet, select the card and then touch the TouchID. Why is this not mentioned on the Apple Tutorial? May I expect the shop device to prompt my iPhone that a ApplePay payment is available so as a touch on touchID would be enough even from standby mode?

2) On Apple Watch APP, settings, I have Wallet and Apple Pay.

Nothing like this is present on my iPhone Settings... why?? According to Apple Informazioni su Apple Pay - Supporto Apple this should available on iOS devices as-well...

Hi

Once you have set it up, follow the instructions here to use Apple Pay in stores using your iPhone:

Using Apple Pay in stores, and within apps and websites - Apple Support

In respect of setting up Apple Pay on your iPhone, it may help to check that your iPhone region is set correctly:

On your iPhone, go to: Settings > General > Language & Region > Region.

And to follow all of the required steps here:

If you would prefer to prepare your iPhone for using Apple Pay before reaching the payment terminal (which you may find more convenient, for example, when using a different card than the default card or when using Apple Pay on public transit), then follow these steps:

  • Either:
    • If the shortcut option has been enabled, double-click the Home button (not the Sleep/Wake / power button) from the Lock screen.

To enable this option, go to: Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay - turn on Double-Click Home Button.

    • Or open the Wallet app manually.
  • Select your preferred card > place your finger on the Touch ID sensor until you see "Hold Near Reader to Pay".
  • You will then have 60 seconds to pay using that card by holding the top of your iPhone near the contactless reader.
  • During this time, you do not need to keep your finger on the Touch ID sensor or to place it there again.

If you hold your phone over the terminal that supports Apple Pay, the cards will automatically appear on your screen. Or, you can double tap the power button if the phone is locked.

You should see the settings under Settings>Wallet & Apple Pay just under the settings for iTunes & App Store.
