Remove "Documents" from iCloud?

Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

iOS 10.3 or later:

1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Storage > Manage Storage.
2. Scroll down to Documents & Data and tap Other Documents.
3. Swipe left or tap Edit to delete individual files from the app.

Mac

On a Mac with OS X Yosemite or later, you can manage your iCloud Drive files from the iCloud Drive folder in Finder:

1. If you need to, turn on iCloud Drive on your Mac:
   1. Go to Apple menu > System Preferences and click iCloud.
   2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
   3. Turn on iCloud Drive. In Options, make sure that you select the apps or folders for the files you want to manage.
2. Open Finder and go to the iCloud Drive folder.
3. Drag an item to the Trash, or move it to a different folder on your Mac.

Other people have posted similar problems and after contacting iCloud support, found it was a server problem. iCloud support reset everything. You may have to politely ask for a level 2 person.

If necessary contact iCloud Support. You may have to try twice.

iCloud Support

My icloud drive shows no files. However, the space taken by icloud documents is 2 Gig. The instructions above are garbage - I dont see "Documents & Data and tap Other Documents." in manage storage.

2. Scroll down to Documents & Data and tap Other Documents.

Doesn't work. I had 4.84gb in Documents on iCloud drive, followed these instructions and emptied the Documents folder on my iMac. Still have 4.84gb of Documents on iCloud drive. Late 2013 iMac, OS10.12.6.

Fix this.

I have exactly this problem! When I go to "manage storage" on my Mac or iPhone, it shows I am using 10.6 Gb in iCloud Drive. I have made sure there is absolutely nothing in my iCloud Drive folder on my Mac. Did you manage to fix the issue?

Follow up to macjack's post, if you are using macOS Sierra, go to System Preferences/iCloud/iCloud Drive/Options and turn off Documents and Desktop syncing.

Have you tried deleting the documents from iCloud Drive?
