Moving iTunes to External Drive NOT Working?

Thanks. I also tried this for Music. When I added all of my songs to a Found Music playlist, I got a message that adding them to a playlist will also download a copy to my computer? Is that what I want to do?

I'm soo close to having this all resolved, thank you very much. Today I restarted my computer with iTunes open and when it turned back on, I got this message: "The folder containing “iTunes Library” cannot be found, and is required. Please choose or create a new iTunes library." So I closed iTunes and opened again and it seemed to have found my library without me needing to identify where it was located. One issue though...while all of the Music and Music Video-related categories were populated with my content, there was absolutely nothing in the "TV & Movies" category at all...just a completely blank screen in the Library section for both TV and Movies. All of the files are still located in iTunes media as shown in my screen shots above...but for some reason, iTunes isn't seeing any of them. Thoughts?

I did press the option key and chose the external hard drive.

How should I rename the iTunes folder on the internal drive?

Thanks, although it's a bit confusing. Is it OK if I use Time Machine?

To select the tracks of the three artists, do I highlight them in the iTunes song list?

And one more fact (that I hope I shouldn't be concerned about) In total, the internal iTunes was 424GB and the new external version is 251GB.
