Any difference between 2015 Macbook Air and 2017 Macbook Air

Is there any difference between the early 2015 MacBook Air and the current 2017 MacBook Air? The specs look the same and I can get one for a lot less new and from an authorized reseller. In particular I want to know if the keyboard was changed as my wife is particular and I cannot test the 2015 model as it's a mail order

Hi,

The specs look the same because they are the same. There is only the 2015 model as it is the most current model; there is no 2017 MBA, nor any other 2017 Mac portable....

Are you sure you're asking about the MacBook Air?

Might you be thinking of comparing a MBA to a MacBook or MacBook Pro? Of course, then the specs aren't the same....

I had this same question after my 2009 MBP died last week. So, 2017 and 2015 machines are almost identical, in 2017 Apple updated the minimum processor speed to from 1.6 to 1.8, but if you were to opt for the upgraded processor from each year, both would be 2.2 (and identical processor not just same clock speed). Also, the memory and HDD are identical spec unless a change was NOT specified by Apply (meaning they put some surplus drives into machines just to get rid of them). For all intents, they are identical (except 1.6 to 1.8).

Gazelle and some of the other refurb sites have Apple beat significantly in price.

Thank you for the replies. I agree the specs look identical -- what I was trying to find out is whether there were any differences that might not be reflected in the specs - specifically whether the keyboard has the same "feel" -- whether the early 2015 model is exactly identical to the current model that I tried in the Apple store, or whether any changes were made that might not be apparent from looking at the specs.
