To check on the status of your account recovery request, visit https://iforgot.apple.com. is just an endless loop

Hello!

So last Wednesday i requested an account recovery through my PC following a closure because of an unidentified purchase using my account. I filled in all possible information (like credit card). It's been a few days so i followed the instructions in the confirmation email that just says: "To check on the status of your account recovery request, visit https://iforgot.apple.com."

However, that link just had me request an account recovery again instead of giving me any sort of status update. I filled in all my info again and it just sent me another confirmation email (which I confirmed again). How do i REALLY check on the status of my account recovery?

So I ended up just biting the bullet and calling them about it. After explaining my situation the lady just had me log into my account profile and click a little button that says "support pin" in the bottom left corner of the webpage and just read it to her. After i read it to her she just hit a button (i assume) and i was able to do all my normal things again instantly.

In the end it seems like i didn't really need to do an account recovery at all. I just needed to call them and prove i was in control of my account by successfully logging in and reading them that pin.

So that would be my suggestion to anyone having this issue.

edit: And in regards to that website being an endless loop; it didn't seem to matter once i talked to the lady. I had no use for the site so i never pursued the issue further. I'm going to assume that it wouldn't be an endless loop to a person's account that's actually in a state of needing a recovery, whatever that state might be like because it apparently wasn't what was my account's issue.
