Hey there, I upgraded my phone to the new software and ever since then, gifs and images are no longer showing in iMessage. I have tried removing and re-adding images in App store, and even restarting the phone. Can anyone help on how I can get this back? Thanks

Thank you, I'm glad other people have had this same issue and it's not just me going nuts. I've taken the suggestion and downloaded the giphy app whilst i wait for them to sort out their next update :-)
Go to cellular data and look for #hashtagimages and turn it on, that’s what worked for me. If you don’t see it try changing the region to the UK and then back to the US and restart the phone and put the iPhone language to English(UK).
My GIFs ONLY work when I’m connected to WiFi. (It used to not be like this.) I have an iPhone 8, unlimited data. It shouldn’t be doing this. I’ve tried everything. Let me know if you find a fix.
Check under mobile data and scroll down to #hashtagimages, it might be turned off. That’s what worked for me

Hi there, yep the giphy app is basically the same thing, so it's doing the trick. It's free in the app store, and you just add it to imessage as you would Images. :-)
I have an iPhone 7 Plus, on iOS 11.2.2, and my #Images app isn't showing up. I have tried everything for the past few months, and I'm losing my mind.

Actually I’m dumb, my cellular data was turned off for the GIF feature. It’s called ‘hashtag images’. I turned it on and it worked. 🏻♀
