NO SUPPORTED DISC BURNER FOUND

I have downloaded songs that I cannot burn to a disc because "no supported disc burner found". I can burn cd's in other programs so I dont understand why I cant do it in itunes. I paid money for these songs and I want to listen to them on a cd!!! Also, I did not have this problem with itunes before I updated.

I recently updated to a new computer as well as iTunes 7.1.1. I never in my life have had a problem with my iTunes on Windows or on OSX.x. Now that I have a new PC I cannot burn my music due to the same error as above stated. My concern grows as I have not yet seen a fix for this that has worked since the posts from update of iTunes 5.0.x. I am concerned that this is not going to get fixed and my music will be stuck here on a pc instead of in my home entertainment system, in my car or anywhere I want to listen to my disc. Disc, being the keyword here. Granted there are work arounds, I could use an iPod and hook it up to my car stereo. I could purchase iWhatever and hook it up to my entertainment system/tv/pretty much whatever Multimedia blah blah I want. (Which is pretty **** sweet)But for me the simplest, most efficient way would be to burn a CD and put the disc in my case and take it with me. So if anyone has a fix, idea or anything, it would be much appreciated. I did try the firewall thing and anti-virus shutdown,(Which is scary if you are on a PC)a fresh reinstall. This had no resolve on my burner being recognized. The burner is a Samsung writemaster. And again, any help is appreciated.

UGGG SAME PROBLEM HERE!!!

i never had burning problems before and itunes 7.1.1.5 always recognized my burners. now that i installed windows vista 64bit and want to convert my m4p files, it gives me a "no supported disc burner" error. i'm frustrated as **** trying to find a solution to this. the gcdroem.cfg thing hasn't worked and i tried placing my burner information into every single possible place to see if it will read. no dice. i've installed and reinstalled so many times its not even funny.

i have two burners:
ASUS DRW-1612BL
HP DVD Writer 840d

where in the gcdroem file do i put that information? all the solutions i see so far apply to other brands. i have no idea where to put that info in and if it will work at all. the only reason i need to burn with itunes is for file conversion.

Same problem here.

I had no problems with this until I downloaded a new versions of iTunes.

Today, 6/1/07, I downloaded itunes 7.2
I began to have problems when I downloaded the version PREVIOUS to 7.2, which was sometime in the middle of May.

Any one else notice this?

And where the heck is the Apple support staff?

I had a similar experience. We have two CD/DVD burners on the PC, both were recognized and used before by iTunes. We also have Nero on the PC. I installed and uninstalled Infrarecorder (freeware recorder program) on my PC. After this, iTunes would only see the second burner (Windows user is a member of Power Users). If I log into a different account with Admin rights on the PC, NEITHER of the two drives are recognized. I have uninstalled iTunes (V6), downloaded and installed V7.2 - still exactly the same symptoms. How could it work before, and now stop working, and the difference between the two accounts?

I used to have Musicmatch Jukebox, but that didn't work either. Is there a way to un-update your version of iTunes? My mom was the one who updated it in the first place and since then everything's messed up. I had 4 CD burning programs (Windows Media Player, Sonic Record Now!, iTunes, Musicmatch Jukebox) but none of them worked. Any ideas or hints on how to fix it?
