Encrypted thumb/flash drive with usb-c connection ? Where to buy

Hi all

Hopefully going to take the plunge for one of the touchbar macs soonish - which I know have type C usb ports.

Was thinking of buying a replacement encrypted flash/thumb drive for the one I have (ancient 8gb with original USB connector) though could continue with this if i get an adapter for it.

Any merit in getting one that plugs straight into USB-C port rather than via adapter ? If so, any ideas on where to buy one - have done a search but can't seem to find anything ....

Thanks all

Hi,

You either need a Thunderbolt 3/USB-C to USB adapter, then you could use any USB flash drive: https://www.amazon.com/nonda-Adapter-Smallest-Aluminum-Indicator/dp/B015Z7XE0A or http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MJ1M2AM/A/usb-c-to-usb-adapter or google for more choices.

Or a Samsung T3, which has a Thunderbolt 3/USB-C connection and you'd need to buy a Thunderbolt 3/USB-C cable: which is about the size of two flash drives, but it takes advantage of the speed of the port and is extremely fast: Amazon.com: Samsung T3 Portable SSD - 250GB - USB 3.1 External SSD (MU-PT250B/AM): Computers & Accessories
