Why is there a monthly charge for iTunes?

I keep getting a random withdrawal out of my account for 4.97, is iTunes not free for iPhones? I thought it only cost when you bought a song.

It sounds like you are being charged for a subscription of some type. See the following to determine what the charge is for and, if it is a subscription, how to cancel:

If you see an unfamiliar iTunes Store or App Store charge on your bank, credit card, or debit statement - Apple Support

and

View, change, or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support

That helped but no subscriptions came up. Only the newsletters so I unchecked all of those in case that's what it is. Thanks so much for your help!
