What is the Bless command mentioned in this article?

I just want to boot to a NetBoot image with the target running 10.11.6. The crsutil command is easy enough but I don't know enough about terminal and the Bless command. Where and how is it applied. Actually is this done on the target computer?

Thanks

The use of 'bless command' has been depreciated in later reference, in name

Other reference on this topic may be found among results of a search, such as:

Short answer:

bless is used to modify the volume bootability characteristics of filesystems, as well as select the
active boot volume. bless has 6 modes of execution: Folder Mode, Mount Mode, Device Mode, NetBoot

Mode, Info Mode, and Unbless Mode.
