CD/DVD Sharing:

Through Sharing on your home network, you can use the CD/DVD reader of another Mac directly.

If willing to install a small Utility, you can use the CD/DVD of a Windows PC.

Use the CD or DVD drive from another computer with your Mac - Apple Support

The charge cable included in the box supports USB-2 [only]. That is fast enough for a CD/DVD Reader.

An adapter cable for USB speeds (including USB-3) is US$19.

You might want to consider getting a third party CD burner - most USB player/burners work with the Mac and will be less expensive than the Apple model; and, tray loading models are more reliable than the slot loading models.

Apple has been moving away from CDs for several years; iMacs haven't had one for some time. The last Macbook Pro (that is what you have, right? just checking since you called it a Mac Pro which is a very expensive desktop computer) that had a CD/DVD slot was the mid 2012 model. So they haven't had that feature for 5 years.

Macbooks and Macbook Pros have NOT had a CD/DVD drive for several years now.

In addition the specs for the Late 2016 Macbook Pros have been available for 6+ months now, including on the Apple Store web site where I suspect you purchased your 13" Macbook Pro.

And if you happen to visit an Apple Store, or other store carrying the current Macbook Pro line, the port configuration and lack of CD/DVD would have been very obvious.
