Regarding reset and software update

`Hi! Actually I hurriedly changed the passcode of my iPhone 5s (iOS 9.1). Now I was not remembering the password. I also tries using my TouchID but may-be due to sweat it may not have recognized. I tried entering the password to unlock my iPhone at my best but no luck and now it is showing that iPhone is disabled and connect to iTunes. So if anyone could please help me out in suggesting me hot to recover back the messages or how can I reset my iPhone without letting the software update, I would be highly obliged.
