iTunes won't play through headphones

I've had an issue pop up with iTunes 12.6.1.27 where it will not play through my headphones plugged into the headphones jack. All other sounds come through. Headphones show up under "Sound" in "System Preferences." When I select which speakers to use in iTunes, it says "Computer," but beneath that it says "MJRecorder Device." Won't let me change it. When I try, a warning pops up saying "you cannot disable playback to the local computer unless you select another AirPlay device for playback first."

Anyone have a solution? I'm at the end of my rope with this one.

Delete "MJRecorderDevice.driver" located in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/

Reboot

Some devices require Airplay to be turned on or off. I am not sure what device 'MJRecorder' happens to be but could it possibly have it's Airplay setting turned on? If so, turn it off or power it down.

Another thing to try is power down the Macbook and restart and also, power down and restart your WiFi router.

And finally read this Apple Knowledge Base article and see if there is anything you missed. Use AirPlay to stream content from iTunes on your computer - Apple Support
